TBO aims to bridge the heavily wedged gap between chess and the Black community and increase critical thinking and problem-solving skills through chess play. The organization’s mission and values are to establish a chapter in every HBCU and tackle the need for more chess presence in the community by exposing students at early ages.

We achieve this mission through an integrated network of HBCU Students and Professionals. We fund & administer the on-campus HBCU Curriculum Program, which educates current undergraduate students.
